Compaq Portable II

The Compaq Portable II is a luggable computer produced by the Compaq Computer Corporation. Rather than being a clone of the original IBM PC, like the Portable 1, it's instead a revised version of their clone (Compaq 286) of the PC AT. The hardwired QWERTY-styled keyboard can be stored on the front of the unit and held in place by two retractable tabs on each side. The front also houses th integrated CRT display and two 5.25" bays, which could house either floppy diskette drives or hard drives (this particular unit has one floppy drive and a 20MB hard drive). On the left side, behind a sliding plastic cover, is the power socket and fuse, while the right side has four ISA expansion card bays. This particular unit has a external CGA video card, a serial/parallel card, and a Centronics-style serial card.
