iTable I and II are custom coffee tables made from the colorful outer shells of the original iMac G3 computer, sandwiched between two clear acrylic “hard disks” that form the table top and base. iTable I and II are circular in shape, like Apple Park, Apple’s new world headquarters. iTable's iMac shells are arranged in the same flower petal shape as seen in the famous “Yum” ad from 20 years ago.
The original iTable I, made from the first five “fruit flavor” iMacs, is currently on display at the Computer Museum of America. iTable I can be seen at https://youtu.be/35znw8T9YUw.
iTable II is made from the second generation of original iMacs, distinguished by their circular handles and vent holes on top, and slot-loading disc drives in front. The 2nd gen iMacs are even more beautiful than the first, with pure translucent shells, not frosted like the 1st gen models, and they come in even more brilliant colors. Techxellent carefully curated the most spectacular iMac colors to create iTable II: Ruby Red, Lime Green, Indigo Blue, Grape Purple and Bondi Blue, the color of the very first iMac, so named for the color of the ocean waters off the famous surfing beach in Australia.
LED lights illuminate the brilliant colors of each translucent iMac shell. Each shell contains one Cree 100 watt 1700 lumens dimmable LED light bulb, remotely dimmed with a Lutron Credenza dimmer slider switch.
A multicolor LED light in the center of iTable II glows fluorescent shades of aqua, blue, green, red, and purple colors that shine through the Apple logo on top. A remote control with four different mode settings and 16 different color settings can also be used to change the Apple logo colors.
iTable II's table top, base and support rods are made entirely of high-gloss clear acrylic plastic. iTable II weighs approx. 100 lb and is approx. 43” in diameter.
